The Casual Boat Ride 14/06/23
One evening, I had an invite from my friends for a fun boat ride. I didn’t think too much about it and agreed to come with them. It was 1:00 pm in the evening when we left the house and to the dock, my friends couldn’t stop squealing on what kind of pictures we could take riding the boat. No one in my friends told me if they had ever ridden a boat by themselves so I was reluctant. They said it was only a 30 minute ride so I felt relieved. We rode for 20 minutes straight for some signs of a dock but there was nothing to be seen. We stayed calm and waited an extra 10 minutes until we really started to panic..

Task Description: I made a story about our “What If?” Task from 2 weeks ago. Its theme is “What if you had superpowers?” I based mine on a girl who could breathe and see properly in water! Enjoy!

My 2021 Story about How the Kiwi lost its Feathers

Once upon a time, there lived a healthy family. They had a farm at the side of their house and a forest nearby. They didn’t know why people kept entering the forest. Then one day, they figured out the answer…

While they were sitting at the dining table, the father saw the word, “Kiwi” on the box. He was confused at first, so he researched and found out the answer. “The Kiwi is a bird!” he exclaimed with delight. He shared his discovery to his family and they got excited just as he did.

Next week, they all went out to the forest and tried finding a kiwi at night. Soon after, they heard a rustle in the distance. The father ran as fast as he could, and he… caught a kiwi! The kiwi looked frightened, but the father realised he did bring some worms! So the kiwi munched on the juicy worm and, finally, she felt safe around the father. After that, the father named the kiwi “Maple.” Maple had a silky gold colour at the side of her beak. The family knew they couldn’t keep Maple so they let her go. They felt upset, but they knew it was the right thing to do.

While they were walking away, the younger sister spotted a feather. She realised that the feather looked like Maple’s feather, so she took it to her family. The feather became their best taonga because it reminded them about their adorable kiwi bird!
